McKemie Place

McKemie Place provides emergency shelter for unaccompanied adult women in the Mobile region. The organization also connects guests with community resources and opportunities that can support safety and greater independence. Shelter capacity and intake requirements may change, so women seeking a bed should speak with staff before arriving.

The current City of Mobile resource guide lists the shelter at 913 Broad Street, Mobile, Alabama 36603. Call 251-287-2225 to ask about phone screening, intake timing, bed availability, and what to bring. The organization publishes a mailing address separately; mail should not be confused with the street location used for services.
