Shéiyi X̱aat Hít Youth Shelter

Shéiyi X̱aat Hít Youth Shelter is Juneau’s emergency shelter for young people ages 10 through 17 who are experiencing homelessness, have run away, or face an immediate risk of either. Official information describes a six-bed home where staff support safety and individualized plans of care. Shelter staff also respond when young people request help through participating Safe Place locations.

The shelter is at 9290 Hurlock Avenue, Juneau, AK 99801 and is open 24 hours a day. Call the shelter directly at 907-364-7481 to discuss whether it is appropriate for the young person’s circumstances and whether space is available. This is the shelter location, not the Zach Gordon Youth Center at 396 Whittier Street. Contacting the shelter does not reserve a bed or guarantee admission.

Other organizations can be compared in NHREA’s Juneau resource directory. Statewide contacts appear on the Alaska assistance page, and national programs appear under Federal Assistance. NHREA is an informational directory and does not operate the shelter, answer its intake line, determine eligibility, reserve beds, or guarantee admission.
