Mama’s Kitchen — HIV Emergency Food Assistance
- 3960 Home Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105 (contact office)
- 619-233-6262
- October 29, 2026
Mama’s Kitchen offers free home-delivered meals through its HIV Nutrition Program for San Diego County residents diagnosed with HIV who are physically or mentally unable to prepare meals. The program provides three nutritional meals for each day of the week and also delivers meals for dependent children.
A referral from a medical case manager, social worker or physician is required. Findhelp says the referring professional must maintain contact and recertify eligibility every six months. These are not an exhaustive list of intake requirements: ask Mama’s Kitchen and your referring provider about current documentation, eligibility review and approval before expecting service.
Three meals per day describes the food provided, not daily delivery visits. Delivery arrangements are confirmed with the program after intake. The address at 3960 Home Avenue is a contact office, not an unrestricted walk-in meal pickup site. Call 619-233-6262 or email clientservices@mamaskitchen.org for information and office hours.
This home-meal program is separate from Mama’s Kitchen’s emergency grocery-bag assistance.
