Augusta Rescue Mission

Founded in 1965 by Reverend Robert “Bob” Moon and Daisy Moon, Augusta Rescue Mission is a faith-based community resource for people experiencing homelessness and hardship. Its work includes shelter and support for homeless men, Christian discipleship, life-skills development, and employment preparation.

Programs include emergency overnight shelter, meals, showers, laundry access, clothing, and toiletries. The men’s Life Transformation Program provides phased training, skills development, and accountability as participants work toward goals in their treatment plans. Fresh Start Laundry offers a free community laundry service, while food programs and outreach help connect people with practical resources.

Those seeking homelessness support can explore NHREA’s Georgia homelessness assistance resources and federal assistance resources. For program information and current logistical details, visit the Augusta Rescue Mission programs and services page.
