Description

Founded in 1977 by a group of addiction professionals, the Middlesex Regional Alcoholism Treatment Center (MRATC) began its mission in Waltham, Massachusetts, providing drug and alcohol detoxification and related support services. The center quickly became a trusted resource for individuals seeking recovery and hope.
In 1984, under the leadership of Executive Director G. Peter Donovan, MRATC expanded beyond detoxification to address broader community needs. The organization began offering shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and food assistance for those struggling with hunger, reinforcing its commitment to dignity, health, and stability.
With a legacy of compassion and innovation, MRATC continues to serve as a cornerstone of support, helping individuals and families overcome addiction, rebuild their lives, and access the essentials they need to thrive.
