Description

Christian Community Action, Inc. (CCA) has provided help, housing, and hope in New Haven’s Hill community since 1967. From 168 Davenport Avenue, CCA supports families and individuals facing crisis through services designed to address urgent needs while building stability and self-sufficiency.

Its programs include apartment-style emergency housing for families experiencing homelessness, supportive New HOPE housing in partnership with Elm City Communities/Housing Authority of New Haven, and the ARISE Center, which connects Hill residents with resources related to health, wellness, education, employment, and family support. Other supports include food pantry services, diaper and incontinence products, utility and heating assistance, and referrals. Learn more about CCA’s programs and confirm current details directly with the organization.

Through its Advocacy and Education Project and Mothers and Others for Justice, CCA also works with community members to address poverty, homelessness, income inequality, and barriers to independence through grassroots organizing and public-policy efforts. For additional housing-related information, see NHREA’s Connecticut homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources.
