Since 2016, Close to Home has been the HUD-designated Continuum of Care (CoC) lead agency for San Antonio and Bexar County, dedicated to ensuring everyone in the region has a safe and stable place to call home. As a backbone nonprofit, Close to Home secures and allocates funding, provides education, empowers service providers, and promotes accountability among organizations addressing homelessness and housing insecurity. Working closely with the Alliance to House Everyone—a coalition of around 50 regional partners—Close to Home coordinates collaborative efforts, offers training, recommends strategic solutions, and addresses service gaps to significantly reduce homelessness in the community.
