At Covenant House California (CHC), our mission is to provide unhoused youth in California, ages 18 to 24, with the shelter, safety, support, and opportunity they need to rebuild their lives. As a leading nonprofit youth shelter, CHC is dedicated to ending youth homelessness by offering a holistic and compassionate approach that empowers young people to transition from crisis to stability and independence.

Founded on the belief that no young person deserves to be homeless, CHC has been a trusted sanctuary for thousands of youth facing housing insecurity across California, including in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Our commitment goes beyond providing a bed for the night—we offer comprehensive, wraparound services that nurture the physical, emotional, educational, vocational, and spiritual well-being of every young person who walks through our doors.

A Safe Haven for California’s Homeless Youth
Every year, thousands of young people in California experience homelessness due to family conflict, abuse, aging out of the foster care system, poverty, and other traumatic life events. CHC provides them with a safe and supportive environment, offering essential services such as:
