Dallas LIFE Homeless Recovery Center
Description
Dallas LIFE has grown from a humble storefront mission in 1954 into the largest homeless shelter and recovery center in North Texas, serving thousands with compassion and purpose. Originally founded as the Dallas Rescue Mission by Reverend Robert J. Key, the organization has a long and inspiring history of Christian service and holistic care.
Over the decades, Dallas LIFE evolved from a nightly shelter to a comprehensive recovery center offering faith-based services, addiction recovery, job training, education, and permanent housing support. Under new leadership in the 1980s, the center expanded to support men, women, and children experiencing homelessness.
Today, Dallas LIFE stands as a nationally recognized model of transformation, providing programs that empower individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and embrace full life restoration. With a commitment to dignity, service, and love, we help every resident walk toward a renewed life of stability and purpose.
