Dorothy Day House
Description
Across the United States, more than 770,000 people are unhoused, with 187,000 in California, 38,891 in the Bay Area, 9,747 in Alameda County, and 844 right here in Berkeley. These numbers represent real people—our neighbors—who deserve the dignity of safe housing and the support needed to rebuild their lives.
Our mission is simple but urgent: to get people back home. We work tirelessly to address both chronic and temporary homelessness by providing housing, critical services, and community-based solutions that create lasting change.
By partnering with local organizations, volunteers, and donors, we are breaking down barriers to housing and giving hope to those who need it most. Together, we can reduce homelessness and help every individual find their way home.
