Description

HomeAid San Diego helps people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. Founded in March 2002, the organization builds and renovates nonprofit housing and program facilities in partnership with nonprofit organizations and public institutions.

By leveraging relationships across the building industry, HomeAid San Diego secures donated labor and materials to create safe, dignified environments. Its projects have supported communities including veterans, emancipated foster youth, women and children affected by domestic abuse, and homeless mothers and their children, including a maternity shelter development for Home Start, Inc.

HomeAid San Diego also advances community engagement through basic-necessity drives, awareness, education, and advocacy. Its WORKS program provides construction training, education, and job opportunities for people experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or exiting homelessness. Visit the official HomeAid San Diego website for more information. Related resources are available through California homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources.
