Housing Solutions-Southwest

Housing Solutions for the Southwest is a nonprofit housing organization in Durango serving Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan counties since 1981. Its work focuses on affordable housing and long-term stability through rental assistance, transitional living, homelessness prevention, and housing counseling.

Housing counseling addresses issues affecting tenancy and access to housing, including affordable-housing searches, referrals, fair-housing concerns, homeless-services referrals, reverse-mortgage counseling, budgeting, and housing-search assistance. Depending on the program and available funding, support may also include rental or utility assistance, navigation, case management, credit counseling, weatherization, or housing rehabilitation.

The organization also develops and preserves affordable rental apartments and single-family homes for seniors, families, veterans, and people with disabilities.
