Interfaith Works

Interfaith Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at 114 W Montgomery Ave in Rockville. Serving Montgomery County, it provides emergency shelter, supportive housing, essential-needs assistance, and employment programs for people working toward greater stability. The organization grew from a local faith-community initiative founded in 1972, but it is not a religious organization.

Its supportive housing programs combine permanent housing with case management for adults with disabilities and a history of homelessness, people who previously experienced homelessness, and individuals and families moving toward stable housing. Emergency shelter programs pair temporary shelter with basic needs and supportive referrals that can help clients pursue permanent housing.

The IW Essential Needs Center includes a clothing center that provides free clothing and home goods, along with a choice-style food pantry.
