Description

Merced County Food Bank helps address food insecurity in Merced and Mariposa Counties. As a member of the Feeding America network, it gathers donated food from businesses, growers, government agencies, individuals, and other organizations to support local hunger-relief efforts.

Through its Community Food Program, the food bank supplies food and nonfood items to nonprofit partners such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and other charitable programs. These organizations may prepare meals on site or distribute groceries for individuals and families to take home.

The food bank also administers the federal Emergency Food Assistance Program, which provides monthly food packages to eligible individuals and families through local distribution sites. Visit the official program page for details and referral information. People seeking related support can explore NHREA’s California homeless assistance resources and federal assistance guide.
