Modesto Gospel Mission

Located at 1400 Yosemite Blvd in Modesto, California, Modesto Gospel Mission has served people experiencing homelessness and others in need since 1948. Its mission is to provide refuge, recovery, and restoration through the power and love of Jesus Christ. Services include meals, overnight shelter, clothing, showers, chapel services, and support for immediate needs.

The Mission’s longer-term programs include 12-month New Life Programs for men and women, with practical, spiritual, emotional, educational, vocational, and financial support. The official programs page describes case management, life-skills classes, recovery support, career development, and aftercare. Freedom Road provides daytime refuge along with recovery meetings, peer support, Bible studies, life-skills instruction, and assistance related to identification, employment, and housing.

Additional services include a volunteer-run medical clinic, recuperative care partnerships, housing assistance, and help obtaining legal identification and public services.
