The National Health Care for the Homeless Council supports Health Care for the Homeless programs, advocates, and consumer leaders through training, research, and advocacy. Its work includes webinars, online courses, regional and national training events, conferences, technical assistance, and access to experts in the field.
NHCHC’s clinical and quality improvement resources help administrators, case managers, and other providers strengthen care for people experiencing homelessness. Topics include emergency preparedness, discharge planning, permanent supportive housing, quality improvement, provider well-being, medical ethics, cultural competency, and resources for distinct populations. Learn more through the official NHCHC website.
The Council also develops health-and-housing education, including resources on assessing housing-related needs, building program capacity, and creating partnerships with housing-focused community organizations. In Tennessee, NHCHC facilitates the TennCare Shelter Enrollment Project, which supports enrollment assistance and training related to TennCare for children experiencing homelessness. For related local resources, visit NHREA’s Tennessee homeless assistance guide and federal assistance resources. Visit NHCHC’s official site to confirm current program details.
