Description

Eliminate Homelessness Among Veterans in Central Florida with NVHS

At NVHS (Native Veterans Housing Services), we are deeply committed to the mission that no veteran should ever be left behind or forced to live on the streets. Since our founding in 2008, NVHS has been tirelessly working to provide comprehensive support and housing solutions for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families throughout Central Florida, with a special focus on Brevard County.

Over the past decade and a half, our dedicated outreach, prevention, and housing programs have dramatically reduced veteran homelessness in the region. In fact, we have successfully decreased the homeless veteran population in Brevard County by an astonishing 90%, from approximately 1,800 veterans in 2008 to fewer than 200 in 2024. This achievement stands as a testament to the power of coordinated community action, compassionate care, and effective program delivery.

In the last 12 months alone, NVHS has provided essential street outreach, prevention case management, and transitional housing services to over 400 veterans and their families, helping them move off the streets and into safe, stable living environments. Our programs not only focus on securing housing but also on offering the comprehensive support services veterans need to rebuild their lives, regain their independence, and reclaim their dignity.

NVHS is proud to have earned a Platinum rating from Candid and a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator, reflecting our strong fiscal responsibility, transparency, and effective stewardship of donor contributions. These accolades highlight our commitment to accountability and ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly toward making a meaningful impact in the lives of veterans.

Despite our successes, the fight to end veteran homelessness is far from over. Rising living costs and inflation in Central Florida continue to put many low-income veterans and their families at risk of losing their homes. To prevent a return to the crisis levels seen in 2008, NVHS urgently needs community support and partnerships to expand our services and outreach.

We invite you to join us in this vital mission. Together, we can ensure that every veteran in Central Florida has access to safe, affordable housing and the resources they need for a stable, dignified life. Your support can help us continue providing critical housing solutions, advocacy, and life-changing programs for those who have bravely served our country.

Make a difference today by supporting NVHS—because no veteran should ever have to face homelessness alone.
