Description

My Father’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Paola, Kansas, founded in 2003 to provide programming and advocacy for people experiencing homelessness, living on a low income, or facing other challenges. The organization opened its transitional housing program in 2006.

Its facility-based transitional housing program provides rooms and shared private showers, with services offered on site and through partner organizations. Residents may participate for up to two years while working toward greater stability and permanent housing. Support includes case management, life-skills classes, community counseling, a limited basic-health-care clinic, and peer- or facilitator-led support groups. Visit the official programs page for program information.

The organization states that its housing program serves individual women age 18 and older, younger emancipated women, and families experiencing homelessness in Miami or Linn counties. Eligibility is determined through an application process and is based in part on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s definition of homelessness. For additional information, review NHREA’s Kansas homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources. Visit the official website to confirm current details.
