Description
People’s City Mission – Serving Lincoln’s Homeless and Low-Income Families Since 1907
Since its founding in 1907 by local churches, People’s City Mission (PCM) has been a cornerstone of support for Lincoln’s homeless and impoverished men, women, and children. Today, PCM operates as the city’s primary homeless shelter, housing an average of 350 individuals daily, including emergency and transitional housing for men and families, with a focus on single mothers.homeless and impoverished men, women, and children. PCM’s Help Center, opened in 1990, distributes donated food, clothing, household items, furniture, toys, and personal care products free of charge to low-income families throughout the community, providing essential resources that promote stability and dignity.
In addition, the PCM Free Medical Clinic, launched in 2009, offers free medical, dental, chiropractic, and behavioral health services to uninsured Lincoln residents, addressing critical healthcare gaps.
Guided by its mission to be a witness for Christ among the poor and homeless, People’s City Mission remains dedicated to serving immediate needs, advocating for vulnerable populations, and creating pathways toward self-sufficiency and hope.
