Covenant House Texas
Description
Covenant House Texas (CHT) has been serving homeless, abused, and abandoned youth in Houston since 1983. Today, CHT provides a comprehensive continuum of care for young people ages 18–24, offering safe shelter, food, clothing, medical care, and pathways to stability. Our services include mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, educational and vocational training, transitional and permanent housing, parenting classes, and street outreach programs.
As part of the larger Covenant House network, founded in 1972 in New York City, CHT joins 30+ locations across North and Central America in advocating for homeless youth. Located in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, we primarily serve Harris County, offering faith-based support grounded in unconditional love, absolute respect, and a commitment to lasting independence.
With more than 42 years of service, Covenant House Texas continues to be a lifeline for youth in crisis, giving them a voice, a home, and the tools to thrive.
