Esperanza Community

Esperanza Community is operated by The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF), an Austin-based nonprofit supporting people experiencing homelessness through low-barrier shelter, workforce development, and pathways toward housing. The community offers individual shelter units along with personalized case management, housing navigation, wellness services, and opportunities for work and vocational development.

Residents work with staff and community partners to identify resources, address barriers, and pursue greater stability. Esperanza was shaped with resident involvement, including a leadership committee that helped choose the community’s name after TOOF began working at the site in 2020.
