United Way of Stanislaus County: Building a Stronger, United Community Through Lasting Solutions, Collaborative Partnerships, and Responsive Support Services
Since 1953, United Way of Stanislaus County has been a cornerstone in the fight to address the most critical issues impacting our community. For over seven decades, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to finding long-term, sustainable solutions that improve lives and uplift individuals and families throughout Stanislaus County. At the heart of our mission is a dedication to inspiring unity and empowering our community through strategic collaborations with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, business leaders, and passionate volunteers.
Our legacy is built on the belief that real, lasting change is achieved through collective action. By leveraging a robust network of partnerships, we are able to BUILD organizational capacity for local nonprofits, ENGAGE community members in impactful volunteer opportunities, and INVEST resources where they are needed most. Simply put, we were here YESTERDAY, we are here TODAY, and we will be here TOMORROW—continuing to drive positive change across Stanislaus County.
The year 2020 brought unprecedented challenges with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, impacting not only public health but also the economic and social well-being of countless families. In response, United Way of Stanislaus County swiftly pivoted our programs and services to meet these evolving needs. We expanded initiatives like 211 of Stanislaus County, a vital information and referral service, which handled over 3,492 COVID-19 related calls between March 15 and December 31, 2020. Recognizing the urgency, we also launched a COVID-19 Pop-Up Call Center, providing hands-on, direct support to individuals and families navigating pandemic-related hardships.
Throughout this period of uncertainty, we stayed true to our core strategies:
BUILD: Strengthening and supporting local nonprofit organizations to enhance their capacity and maximize their impact.
ENGAGE: Mobilizing volunteers and fostering connections between individuals, organizations, and resources to meet immediate and long-term community needs.
INVEST: Ensuring that every donation and grant is strategically directed towards initiatives that deliver measurable, life-changing outcomes for Stanislaus County residents.
United Way of Stanislaus County doesn’t just react to crises—we proactively work towards a vision of a healthier, stronger, and more equitable community. From advancing education, promoting financial stability, and enhancing health services, to addressing urgent issues like homelessness, food insecurity, and disaster recovery, our programs are designed to tackle the root causes of systemic challenges.
As a trusted community impact organization, we remain committed to fostering collaboration, advocating for policy changes, and continuously innovating to address emerging needs. Whether through volunteer engagement programs, community impact investments, or partnership-driven initiatives, we are dedicated to being a reliable and resilient force for good in Stanislaus County.
