Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) serves Kings County through programs designed to help individuals, families, and communities build self-sufficiency. Its work includes early childhood education, child care, domestic violence services, food programs, and community resources.
KCAO’s early childhood services include Head Start, Early Head Start–Child Care Partnerships, California State Preschool, and other child care programs. Its Head Start programming supports children and families with educational services, dental and health screenings, and healthy meals, including support for children with disabilities.
KCAO also administers food programs that support children during the summer and help participating family child care providers serve nutritious meals and snacks. Visit the official KCAO website for current program information. Additional California resources are available through NHREA’s California homeless assistance guide and federal assistance resources.
