Home of the Sparrow’s mission is to reduce homelessness among women, children, families, and individuals by creating innovative strategies and community partnerships that lead to lasting self-sufficiency. Founded as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit homeless shelter in 1987, the organization offers Transitional Shelter, Affordable Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, and Supportive Services tailored to address the root causes of homelessness. With a focus on survivors of domestic violence—who comprise approximately 93% of those served—Home of the Sparrow also helps individuals facing financial crises, family loss, medical emergencies, and the impacts of rising living costs. In Fiscal Year 2024 alone, the organization responded to over 2,200 calls for help and directly served more than 530 people in crisis.
