Description

Make a Home Foundation is a Connecticut nonprofit based in Middlebury that helps people experiencing homelessness and other life crises move toward stable, fully furnished homes. Its work includes veterans and their families, people affected by domestic abuse, victims of natural disasters, people with disabilities, seniors, and those transitioning toward permanent housing. Learn about Make a Home’s programs.

Through its Furniture Request Program, the organization helps families and individuals furnish their homes with essential furniture and household items, with requests supported through caseworkers and referring agencies. Its Community Partnerships Program works with local agencies, nonprofits, and other organizations to support people in need.

Make a Home also welcomes gently used furniture, appliances, household-item donations, and volunteer support. For additional Connecticut homelessness resources, visit NHREA’s state assistance guide. Broader support options are available through NHREA’s federal assistance resources. Visit the official Make a Home website to confirm current program details.
