Description

For more than three decades, the California Housing Partnership has been a leading force in addressing California’s housing crisis by creating and preserving affordable, sustainable homes for low-income individuals and families. Since our founding in 1988, we have worked hand-in-hand with nonprofit developers, public agencies, and community partners to deliver expert financial and policy solutions that make safe and stable housing a reality for those who need it most.

Through our on-the-ground technical assistance, applied research, and legislative leadership, we have successfully leveraged approximately $37 billion in private and public financing. These efforts have resulted in the creation and preservation of more than 96,000 affordable homes across California, providing security and hope for countless residents.

At the heart of our work are our Core Equity Values. We believe that true equity in housing means dismantling barriers and addressing historic disparities that prevent many Californians from accessing affordable homes. Our internal working group meets regularly to define what equity means for our organization, establish actionable goals, and engage both staff and leadership in creating meaningful change. This ongoing process has led to the development of a clear equity framework that guides every decision we make — and as we continue to learn, we remain committed to improving and strengthening this foundation.

By combining financial expertise, policy advocacy, and a deep commitment to social justice, the California Housing Partnership continues to transform the housing landscape. Our mission is not only to provide affordable housing but also to ensure that every Californian has the opportunity to live in a safe, sustainable, and thriving community.

Join us in our mission to build a future where affordable housing is accessible to all. Together, we can create lasting solutions that advance equity, strengthen communities, and improve lives throughout California.
