Emmaus Homeless Shelter

Emmaus Homeless Shelter is an Ellsworth resource for people experiencing homelessness and individuals or families in need. Part of H.O.M.E. Inc., the shelter has served the community since opening in 1992. Its official site describes people affected by homelessness as including those without adequate support after discharge, people with disabilities, survivors of abuse, single parents and families, people affected by medical catastrophes, and both unemployed and employed residents.

Emmaus also provides a food pantry and organizes Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets. Its food pantry is supported through Good Shepherd Food Bank purchases and donations from local schools, businesses, churches, and community members.
