Description

JMJ Maternity Homes — A Catholic Faith-Based Haven for Homeless Pregnant Women

JMJ Maternity Homes is a Catholic faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has served as a sanctuary for homeless pregnant women since 2007, supporting over 400 women and their children. Our mission began with Mary’s Mantle, the first home generously provided by the Marsh family, inspired by their love of Christ to assist pregnant women facing difficult and stressful situations.

In June 2009, we moved to a larger home in Atwater, rent-free, thanks to the Catholic Diocese of Fresno. This new residence, named JMJ Maternity Homes, accommodates up to eight women and their children, offering shelter, support, and hope. Guided by the social and moral teachings of the Catholic Church, we honor the dignity of all human life while respecting the religious beliefs of every client, staff member, volunteer, and board member.

Our volunteers, including program alumni, play a vital role by providing transportation, assistance, and managing material donations such as maternity and baby clothing, diapers, furniture, and household items—helping residents transition successfully to independent living.
