Description

Merced Rescue Mission – Transforming Lives of the Homeless and Vulnerable Through Faith-Based Care in Merced County
Merced Rescue Mission, along with Merced Rescue Mission Support Corporation and Mission Merced, stands as one of Merced County’s largest and most trusted providers of housing, care, and support services for people experiencing homelessness, incarceration, or addiction. Since 1991, this faith-based organization has been dedicated to offering hope, healing, and life transformation through the power of Jesus Christ.
At the core of Merced Rescue Mission’s purpose is the desire to provide men and women facing homelessness with a loving and supportive environment where they can encounter Jesus Christ and embrace a new way of life. Through carefully designed programs, participants receive holistic care tailored to their unique needs, empowering them to rebuild their lives from the streets, incarceration, or addiction back to stability and purpose.
The mission of Merced Rescue Mission is to serve unhoused individuals in Merced County by delivering hope and facilitating lasting transformation through Jesus Christ. Their vision is a community where all unhoused people are fed, housed, and transformed by faith, gaining access to resources that restore dignity and opportunity.
Success stories from program participants highlight the profound impact of the mission’s work—men and women reconnecting with families, securing employment, finding stable housing, and integrating into church communities. One participant, Michelle, shares, God has turned my life around. I have experienced what ‘rescue’ is all about… Hope for Women has been a blessing in my life!” Inspired by Isaiah 40:29—God gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless”—this testimony reflects the core strength and hope offered by the mission.
Merced Rescue Mission’s innovative, long-term programs focus on meeting the comprehensive needs of men, women, and families affected by homelessness and addiction. By providing shelter, meals, counseling, job training, and spiritual guidance, the mission ensures every individual has the opportunity for a fresh start and lasting change.
If you or someone you know is struggling with homelessness, incarceration, or addiction in Merced County, Merced Rescue Mission offers a compassionate, faith-driven pathway to recovery, restoration, and renewed hope. Join the mission in making a difference—because every changed life is a victory worth celebrating.
