Description

Community Partners in Action (CPA) is a Hartford-based nonprofit agency serving people affected by the criminal justice system. Its services include transitional housing, reentry and resettlement support, workforce development and coaching, along with connections to mental health and addiction services.

CPA helps people transition from life in the justice system to life in the community. The organization also works with courts on community-based alternatives to incarceration and collaborates with nonprofits, public agencies and other partners. Its programs support youth and adults across Greater Hartford, Greater Waterbury and other Connecticut communities.

CPA’s Prison Arts program, established in 1978, operates inside Connecticut prisons and uses artistic pursuits to encourage creativity, self-discipline, communication, reflection and connection. The program also works with community partners on exhibitions, conferences and educational talks. Learn more through the official Prison Arts program page.
