Georgetown Ministry Center
Description
Georgetown Ministry Center (GMC), founded in 1987 in Washington, D.C., provides critical services for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness in the Georgetown area. Sparked by the tragic death of Freddy in 1984, GMC was established through a collaborative effort of local congregations, Georgetown University, and the Georgetown Business District. Serving approximately 1,000 individuals annually, GMC offers a Drop-In Center, Street Outreach, and Winter Program, creating a safe space where the homeless population is accepted, supported, and guided toward stable housing and long-term self-sufficiency.”
