Advocates For Homeless Families
Description
Advocates for Homeless Families is dedicated to creating permanent solutions to homelessness by providing essential services such as housing, employment assistance, education, and intensive case management to individuals and families with children in Frederick County. Since its establishment in 1988, this organization has successfully supported over 3,000 people in overcoming homelessness, empowering them to rebuild their lives and become active, contributing members of the community.
Starting with just one rental apartment in 1988, Advocates for Homeless Families has grown to manage 12 single-unit, scattered-site housing properties strategically located throughout Frederick County. These housing options provide safe, stable environments for families to regain independence.
The organization is proud of its exceptional success rates: 95% of families graduating from their Emergency Transitional Housing Program and 90% from the Rapid Rehousing Program maintain long-term housing stability, demonstrating their commitment to effective, lasting solutions. Advocates for Homeless Families continues to work tirelessly to ensure that homelessness is a rare, brief, and nonrecurring experience in their community.
